Who we are
We start from a concrete problem in the operation and use whatever that problem requires: engineering, existing technology and, where it is needed, experimental development and applied research. We are not against R&D; we are against developing technology with no clear route to the operation.
The capability that matters is knowing how far to develop and from where integrating what already exists is enough. Developing too much is expensive; integrating too little leaves the problem intact.
The work does not end in a report, a prototype or a proof of concept. It ends when the solution runs, is measured and scales. The result is read in the performance of the operation, and in what that is worth.
Synapse Group is the applied engineering and technology arm of a Chilean holding focused on building technology for traditional industries facing complex operational challenges.
We work with in-house technical teams and specialized partners to design, prototype and deliver —not just recommend—. When the market does not offer the part, the system, the software or the technology, we build it.

How we work
Almost every company that wants to automate dives straight into digitizing the process exactly as designed. The result is the same process, now running faster and far more expensive to change. Some processes should never have been automated: they should have been deleted.
Every requirement needs an owner with a name, not a department. The ones nobody can justify fall away, and there are almost always more of them than the team expects.
Remove stages, parts and controls. If nothing had to be added back afterwards, not enough was deleted.
Only now. Optimizing something that should not exist is the most expensive mistake, and the most common one, because it feels productive.
With the process already pruned, cut the time between something going in and something coming out. Before pruning, accelerating only spreads the problem faster.
Last. On an audited, pruned and simplified process, automation pays off. On an untouched one, it freezes the mess into steel and software.
Then start over: whatever ended up automated gets audited again.
Most consultancies run this list backwards and start by automating. It is the most expensive way to arrive at the same place.
